Relationship advice for tough economic times
Earlier this month we had Business/Personal Coach, Joanie Winberg host a Downtown Women's Club teleclass on Tips to Enjoy a Happy Relationship During Challenging Times. While these tips were geared towards personal relationships, I definitely see how they could apply in the office too!
According to Winberg, when the going gets tough, it's time to get back to basics, especially when it comes to relationships. Here's a list of of her five best "back to basics" tips.
- Focus on your partner's strengths not weaknesses
- What initially attracted you?
- Try giving praise
- Master the art of true listening
- Try to listen, without attempting to fix anything
- Repeat the question back to make sure you "got it"
- Treat your partner as if they were a stranger
- Give your partner the benefit of the doubt
- Never stop spoiling each other
- Practice acts of kindness
- Don't keep score

I just stumbled through this website that talks about having relationships through tough times and some women find it a no-no to date jobless men.

One thing to remember also is to keep the fire burning and love growing by telling your partner how much they mean to you in different ways.
