Relationship advice for tough economic times

Joanie-winberg Earlier this month we had Business/Personal Coach, Joanie Winberg host a Downtown Women's Club teleclass on Tips to Enjoy a Happy Relationship During Challenging Times.  While these tips were geared towards personal relationships, I definitely see how they could apply in the office too!

According to Winberg, when the going gets tough, it's time to get back to basics, especially when it comes to relationships.  Here's a list of of her five best "back to basics" tips.

  1. Focus on your partner's strengths not weaknesses
    • What initially attracted you?
    • Try giving praise
  2. Master the art of true listening
    • Try to listen, without attempting to fix anything
    • Repeat the question back to make sure you "got it"
  3. Treat your partner as if they were a stranger
    • Give your partner the benefit of the doubt
  4. Never stop spoiling each other
  5. Practice acts of kindness
    • Don't keep score

DWC+ Members of the Downtown Women's Club can visit our Teleclass Library and listen to this and over 30 more teleclasses.  Not a Downtown Women's Club member?  Join today for only $49/year and participate in on upcoming teleclasses, post an online profile, and so much more.

One thing to remember also is to keep the fire burning and love growing by telling your partner how much they mean to you in different ways.
